Red Mountain Golf Club

Red Mountain Golf Course

Red Mountain Golf Club designed by Jonathon Morrow and opened in 2007, is an 18-hole, Par 72 course with a length of 6,905 yards. It’s so easy to see why Red Mountain is rated among the top three in Asia not only because of its sculpted into rugged and rocky terrain but also because of its sheer scenic splendor.

The course features twisting fairways framed by red rock cliffs, lovely lakes, and splashes of thick jungle giving way to some spectacular viewpoints. The course cleverly exploits the dramatic landforms and elevation changes,  thus making it a true golfing challenge. This highly strategic course with its numerous risk and reward opportunities creates a genuinely stimulating test for golfers of all levels.

Loch Palm Golf Club

Loch Palm Golf Club designed by Dr Sukitti K. and opened in 1993 is an 18-hole, Par 72 course with a length of 6,555 yards. Located northeast of Patong beach in the heart of the island, the golf course meanders around Phuket’s largest lake, quarried during the tin mining days. With its jungle-covered mountain backdrop, undulating hills, and palm-lined fairways, it is as picturesque as it is challenging.

Though water comes into play on thirteen of the holes, the first nine holes snake around the lake while the back nine holes pose a more demanding test through mountainous areas with tricky uphill and downhill ventures. As much as Loch Palm offers you a variety of diverse hazards, it also offers golfers of all abilities to truly enjoy a round of golf not only unmistakably stimulating but relaxing too.

Banyan Tree Laguna Golf Club

Banyan Tree Laguna Golf Club is not only part and parcel to a component of a much larger and unique complex of lakes and resorts, but it is also within sight of the beautiful Bang Tao Beach just north of the booming Patong Beach Resort.

This magnificent 18-hole Par 71 course was designed by Max Wagler and opened in 1993. Throughout the 7,678 yard-golf course water is used imaginatively with clusters of fairways and greens appearing as virtual islands in very large lagoons. They serve as boundaries for thirteen of the holes on this course.

The level terrain is dotted with low mounds requiring precision to surmount and circumscribe. The less demanding first nine holes will warm you up for the more challenging last nine holes. The clubhouse has a driving range, a pitching green, a 2,500 square meter putting green, (the largest in Thailand) tennis and squash courts, a health spa, and restaurants. If you like you can also utilize the facilities of the nearby Banyan Tree Laguna Resort with its excellent restaurants.

Aquella Golf & Country Club

Aquella Golf & Country Club is not only the only seaside course on the island, it’s also the only golf course on the island to have the largest sand trap and water hazard. It is an 18-hole par 72 course located twenty minutes by road from the Phuket International Airport. Exquisite water configurations feature heavily on this Perry Dye designed golf course which opened in 1995. All the fairways and greens are either bounded by water or a lake wrapped around them.

The golf course has a range of 7,028 yards for the more experienced as well as a 5,010-yard range from the lady’s tee. It’s distinguished by lagoons and mountains on one side and blue sea on the other. It has all the hallmarks of a Dye design with steeply angled banks separated by playing levels, grass hollows, and severe mounds. Just be aware the 17th hole called The Lady is no lady. At 181 yards this par 3 rates a handicap of 12. A magnificent clubhouse overlooks the beach and offers you extensive amenities as well as some superior dining.

Misson Hills Golf Club

Mission Hills Phuket designed by golfer Jack Nicklaus and opened in 2005 is an 18-hole, Par 72 course with a length of 6,806 yards. Located on the northern shores of the island fifteen minutes by car from the Phuket International Airport. Lying beside the ocean, this championship course offers golfers of every level a host of exciting challenges which include island greens, beach bunkers, palm-lined fairways, and a beautiful resort providing excellent all-round facilities.

Blue Canyon Lake and Country Club

The Blue Canyon Lake and Country Club designed by Yoshikazo Kato and opened in 1991, is a 36-hole course made up of two 18-hole, Par 72 golf courses with a length of 7,179 and 7,129 yards respectfully. Tiger Woods is believed to have said that after winning the Johnnie Walker Classic, Blue Canyon was one of the best golf courses he had ever played on. Located in the north of the island ten minutes from Phuket International Airport, it features two contrasting layouts.

Blue Canyon Lake Golf Course

The 18-hole Blue Canyon Lake course has seventeen holes awash with water hazard challenges while the 18-hole Blue Canyon Country course contours into a deep valley with rolling hills and tree-lined fairways. In addition, the resort here will provide you with not only comfortable accommodation but it will also provide you with some superlative scenic views over both these fine golf courses.

Blue Canyon Country Golf Course

The Phuket Country Club

The Phuket Country Club near Phuket Town and central to most resorts is one of the best golf courses on the island. The gently rising fairways here mirror waves along the island’s magnificent shoreline and also characterises this 18-hole Par 72 course. Water features in other aspects as a focal point for those of you who prefer a course as challenging as it is eye-appealing or as a hazard for those of you who momentarily take your eye off the ball to admire the natural beauty.

Though this golf course is the site of tournament play, it also attracts golfers of every skill level. It features long fairways of up to 492 yards as well as forgiving greens. The clubhouse offers a full facility and a restaurant that serves a wide range of local and international dishes. This course is a favorite among tourists.
