Rail Track through the countryside in Kanchanaburi

What was once a wilderness is now a playground of several golf clubs set amidst the countryside in central western Thailand. While the town of Kanchanaburi may be better known as the world-famous site in which the Bridge over the River Kwai was immortalised in books and movies, its jungles and wild beauty are now tamed and incorporated into superb resorts with just as many challenging golf courses.

The rugged natural beauty of the region is surrounded by spectacular limestone hills, fertile river valleys and expansive sugar cane fields. And all it will take to get to Kanchanaburi is a comfortable two-hour drive by car or a relaxing three-hour journey by train from Bangkok.
