A well-earned Cha-am or Hua Hin Golf holiday offers you the opportunity to enjoy a few lazy days playing round after round of golf on a very real royal summer playground, once relished by kings and princes alike ever since the early 1920’s. The tranquil beauty and slow-paced ambiance coupled with the quiet serenity of the hills and placid seashore make it the perfect golf getaway.

Stretching along the eastern seaboard from the Gulf of Thailand and the birthplace of Thai Golf, you’ll find a number of beautiful golf clubs and courses such as the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course, Palm Hills, Springfield Country Club, Black Mountain, Banyan Golf Club, Imperial Lake View, Majestic Creek and the Milford Golf Club.

Banyan Golf and Spa Resort

Banyan Golf and Spa Resort

Banyan Golf and Spa Resort situated just five kilometres south of Hua Hin and opened in November 2008, has already scooped a number of top prestigious golf awards at the Asian Pacific Golf Summit 2010 at Centara Grand Central World in Bangkok.

The Banyan was voted 1st runner-up for the best clubhouse in Asia Pacific which in itself must have been an enormous achievement considering the competition from several prestigious clubs such as Sentosa Singapore and Dubai Creek Golf Club. No other clubhouse in Thailand was nominated in this category.

Of the 280 golf courses throughout the Kingdom, the Banyan Golf and Spa Resort was also voted 2nd runner-up in the category for the best golf course in Thailand. To have won this award was such a fantastic achievement considering the club has only been in operation for just a few short years.

Thai Country Club in Bangkok is the only club to have won the award in this category. Altogether the Banyan Golf Club has received five accolades for outstanding achievements, including the prestigious national awards for service excellence by the Thailand Tattler.

Banyan is an 18-hole Par 72 course built on a pineapple plantation and provides one of the best golf layouts in the region. At 6,818 yards the course is absolute fun for golfers of all levels. Relatively easy from the forward tee boxes, but a real crackerjack off the back tees.

Water comes into play on eight of the holes while waste bunkers and sand traps are generously sprinkled throughout the course. You also get to enjoy majestic mountain and sea views from most of the holes.

Imperial Lake View Golf Club

Imperial Lake View Golf Club

Imperial Lake View Golf Club is situated 25 kilometres north of Hua Hin on your way to Cha-Am. It is a 36-hole course set on a huge 1,200-acre site of diverse terrain sandwiched between majestic mountains and a lovely large lake. You have a choice of two 18-hole courses. The first of which is a lush sea of green tropical tree-lined fairways.

The second 18 holes quite unique in Thailand, is a dry desert course filled with succulents and wide-open spaces that take full advantage of Thailand’s abundant sunshine. This course is modeled on those found in Arizona in the USA. Both courses were designed by Roger Packard.

The large clubhouse on this Hua Hin golf course offers you numerous recreational facilities including several superb restaurants, a swimming pool, a tennis court, a squash court, a snooker room, a driving range and some wonderful jogging trails.

Palm Hills Golf Resort and Country Club

Palm Hills Golf Resort and Country Club is situated just outside Hua Hin and runs along the foot of a low range of hills. Some 40,000 beautiful fan palms dot the roughs of this scenic course which is laid out around two enormous lakes.

It also embraces a complex of vacation homes. The 18-hole par 72 golf course was designed by renowned American course architect Max Wexler and covers 6,892 yards with broad fairways and treacherous bunkers. It was opened in 1991.

The clubhouse not only features sports facilities but also a spacious playground for children. A swimming pool, a sauna, tennis courts, squash courts, badminton courts, snooker room and driving range are just some of the resources available.

Springfield Village Golf and Spa

Springfield Village Golf and Spa

Springfield Village Golf and Spa situated near the sea only eight kilometres north of Hua Hin, is a 27-hole par 108 golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. The legendary golfer personally oversaw its construction and the finished product is reflected in his concern for detail. Jack would often say that a course should demand precise strokes rather than hard driving power. So having said this, he designed this particular Hua Hin Golf course to reflect that philosophy.

The 7,063-yard course was opened in 1993 and consists of gently rolling fairways with strategically placed bunkers and ponds. The front nine holes lead to greens that demand clear-cut concentration and pinpoint accuracy while the back nine holes require longer strokes to reach the greens. Both the East Course and the West Course contrast in layout and style of play.

The clubhouse offers all the facilities and amenities you would expect, including a fine choice of restaurants, a sports centre, a swimming pool and a driving range. From the Terrace Coffee Shop, you’ll have a superb view of the entire golf course.

Black Mountain Golf Course

Black Mountain Golf Club

Black Mountain Golf Club rated as the 2nd best new golf course in Asia offers world-class golf, high standard surroundings coupled with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Though there may not be that many trees, there are plenty of sand bunkers and water hazards to test your golfing talents. The 18-hole Par 72 course measuring 6,614 yards was designed by Phil Ryan and opened in 2006.

Majestic Creek Golf Course Hua Hin

Cha-am and Hua Hin Golf Clubs

There are Cha-am and Hua Hin golf clubs on the eastern shores where you can enjoy a relaxing round of golf in a perfect beach setting.

Majestic Creek Golf Club, opened in 1993, is a 27-hole Par 108 measuring 6,678 yards and designed by Sukkitti Klangvisai.

Milford Golf Club is an 18-hole Par 72 course measuring 6,614 yards, was designed by Robert McFarland and opened in 1996.

Royal Hua Hin Golf Club is the oldest one dating back to 1924. It has an 18-hole Par 72 course measuring 6,678 yards and was designed by O. A. Robins.
